Hey folks! Today, I am showing you how to make the BEST EVER baked turkey wings! When I originally posted this recipe, it was during the Thanksgiving holiday season as part of a series. I made a Sweet Potato Cheesecake and a Down-Home Cornbread Dressing along with these turkey wings for a complete and delicious holiday meal. Now it’s time for y’all to realize that turkey doesn’t have to be reserved for special occasions like holidays! With a recipe this good, you should be making baked turkey wings all. the. time!

Turkey wings are perfect for anyone who doesn’t like a whole turkey or for a family that just likes the wings. Maybe you don’t have a lot of people to feed and don’t want to waste food—this recipe is perfect for that too! Plus, turkey wings take A LOT less time to make and cost less (OMG, have you seen the price for whole turkeys these days?! Ain’t nobody got time for that!).

This baked turkey wings recipe is super easy to make; it’s basically foolproof! The secret is all in the seasonings (as it so often is!). So let’s dive on into it.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place turkey wings and onion in a casserole dish; sprinkle seasoned salt, poultry seasoning, black pepper, and garlic on both sides of each wing. Pour 1/2 cup water into the casserole dish and cover. Bake in the preheated oven until browned, 1 hour.

Ingredients:

  • 3 1/2 pounds Turkey wings (about 4 turkey wings)
  • 2 teaspoons Poultry seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt (add more to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 2 large Onions (chopped)
  • 1 large Green bell pepper (thinly sliced)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (chopped)
  • 3 cups Chicken stock
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch

Instruction:

  1. Rinse turkey wings, add to a large roasting pan and pat dry. Set aside.
  2. Toss the poultry seasoning, cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper in a small bowl until combined. Add seasoning mixture to the turkey wings and toss until they are well coated. Let sit in the fridge for 60 minutes.
  3. After the 60 minutes are up, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  4. Slice bell pepper and chop onions while the oven is heating.
  5. Add the onion, green pepper and garlic to a large bowl then pour in the stock and worcestershire and combine. Pour the mixture into the large roasting pan then carefully around the turkey to make sure not to disturb the seasonings.
  6. Cover with foil then bake for about 2 hours or more depending on how thick and big your turkey wings are. You want to make sure they are completely tender then remove the foil and brown lightly for 15 minutes. Remove a cup of sauce from the bottom of the wings and stir with cornstarch. Then add back in the pan.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the sauce thickens and serve.

Ingredients:

  • 2.5 lbs turkey wings (cut into sections if bought whole)
  • 1 large lemon (cut into 4 wedges)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (you can substitute it with vegetable oil)
  • 2 1/2 cup turkey or chicken broth (or even water)
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp seasoning salt (or salt free seasoning)
  • 1 tsp minced onions
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 tbsp paprika
  • 2 tsp parsley flakes
  • 2 tsp poultry seasoning

Instruction:

  1. Clean the turkey wings, then rub all surfaces of the wings with the lemon wedges.
  2. Next, place the wings into a large bowl or dish, and drizzle the wings with the olive oil.
  3. Sprinkle all of the seasoning onto the wings, then rub the seasonings all over the wings.
  4. Remove the wings from the bowl and place them into an oiled baking dish.
  5. In the bowl that the wings were in, there will be leftover seasonings. Pour 2 1/2 cups of broth or water into the bowl, stir, then pour the broth or water into the bake dish.
  6. Cover the baking dish and cook the wings in the oven at 350 F for about 1 &1/2 hours to 2 hours
  7. Periodically remove the wings from the oven and baste. Turkey wings are done when cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
  8. For a crispy skin, remove the wings, uncover the baking dish, and place under the broiler for the last 5-10 minutes of cooking time.
